Routing rules

How emails to the reporting mailbox find their deal without a human.

How matching works

  • Matching is contains, not exact, and capitalization never matters. A sender pattern matches when the from address contains it; a keyword pattern matches when the subject line or any attachment filename contains it. A rule with both patterns needs both to match.
  • When every matching rule points at the same deal, the email arrives already assigned to it (a confident match), and the matching rule with the lowest priority number supplies the property tag if it has one.
  • When matching rules point at different deals, or nothing matches, the email lands in triage untagged for a person to assign. Priority never decides between deals; that would let a mis-ranked rule file something silently in the wrong place.
